Welcome
to Bromeliad Place. To the casual visitor these bromeliads may just be water tanks made of
leaves but those who live here know that real drama that unfolds here every day, in the
hottest little pond in the tree. |
MOSQUITO ENTERS LEFT, BUZZING NONCHALANTLY. |
|
NARRATOR
|

|
Meet
the mosquitoes and the frogs. Both lay eggs in the water, and young frogs love to eat
mosquito larvae. |
MOSQUITO NOTICES FROG AND THEY GLARE AT EACH OTHER. |

The
surviving mosquitoes are out for blood and they'll get it when they bite the adult frogs.
Charming, isn't it? |
SALAMANDER ENTERS RIGHT, WITH GLASS IN HAND. |

Then
there's this salamander, just stopping by for a drink ... |
SNAKE POPS ITS HEAD IN, LEFT, AND GRINS HUNGRILY AT SALAMANDER. |

...
but this snake might have other ideas. |
SALAMANDER BEATS IT, RIGHT, IN A PUFF OF SMOKE. |

And of
course there's the bromeliad itself. What does she get from all these guests? |
SNAKE AND FROG SNUB EACH OTHER. SNAKE LEAVES, LEFT. |

Only
their dirt, but that gives her all she needs! |
MOSQUITO, SALAMANDER, SNAKE ALL RE-ENTER FROM ALL SIDES. TOGETHER WITH
FROG, THEY ALL
GLARE AT EACH OTHER LIKE A MEAN BRADY BUNCH. |
